"New Christmas" is all original Jazz Christmas tunes sung by three of Boston's jazz vocalists! April Hall, Monica Hatch and Patrice Williamson are backed by a tight trio of Hines, bassist Dave Landoni and drummer Miki Matsuki.
Monica is featured on the track "Little Jesus, Sweetly Sleep" as well joining forces with a beautiful choir directed by John Delorey and Patricia Snyder. This collection, which includes nearly all of Sowerby's Christmas music, presents a comprehensive overview; from his very first, A Carol for New Year's Day, dating from his eighteenth year, to A Prayer for Christmas, composed in his 72nd year for the choir of his last parish church, Christ Church, Georgetown.
